Congratulations to Matt Ulrich & Sandra Steiner, students of the Northwest College of Design, and recipients of the first Janet Cramer Scholarship awards, pictured with Janet Cramer's two daughters presenting the awards.  The awards were given in honor of Janet Cramer by her two daughters, Karen Brody and Nancy Heckler, and in partnership with Artists’ Edge in Poulsbo.  And a very special thanks goes to Derek Gundy of Artists’ Edge for all of his help and support, as well as the entire Kitsap County community and all of the talented art students who applied.

Our next goal?  We are currently working with the Bainbridge Arts and Humanities Council to develop a mentoring program and fund the teaming up of accomplished local artists with high school art students who are committed to exploring their art practice, considering art school, or seeking careers as artists.  Encouraging young artists was always one of Janet’s passions, and this program will continue her legacy.  Proceeds of the sales of paintings will go towards the fund.
